    where do I find a password for windows defender

     

    Password?  There is no password for Windows Defender.

    Also, if one could direct you to where the password was, it would not be much of a password.  Kind of like hiding the front door key under the mat, or putting your wallet in your shoe at the beach.

    then why when I click on windows defender it asked for a password?  I used all mine and none work.

    Some questions for you:

    1. Your account is Admin account or Limited account?
    2. Is every other Windows program [like Windows Firewall and Windows Update] working without a password?
    3. How do you access Windows Defender [from an icon of desktop or by Control Panel or by searching in Charms bar]?
    4. Did this problem occurred right after you started using Windows 8 or after some days of working or in recent history?
    5. Any other antivirus is installed on your PC or not?

    Also, you mentioned Windows Defender Offline in your question header which is completely (not completely!) different from Windows Defender.

    Windows Defender, on Windows 8 (or any other version of Windows Defender from Microsoft), does not have a password.

    Are you referring to the Administrator password?  If so, then only you (or the administrator) will know that password.

    If you have installed a fake Windows Defender program, then you have successfully given the fake program all of your passwords.

    Explain, in detail, what you have done, including any other anti-malware products installed on your system.
