ADS Instant HDTV PCI audio problem

I updated my computer to windows 7 Ultimate but I have a problem with my sound I tried fixing the problem and it say that I need to reinstall this driver for ADS Instant HDTV PCI and that reinstalling the problem might help. I applied the fix but it doesn't help. Can some please help me if they can that would really be great and I have Dell Dimension 4550

    Hi Mussa,

    a)      Do you get any error message?

    b)      Is the issue confined to ADS Instant HDTV PCI card?

    You may face this issue if the audio drivers for Windows 7 is corrupted or outdated. Follow these methods and check if it helps:


    Method 1:

    Perform the steps provided and check.

    a. Right-click on the speaker icon in system tray.

    b. Select Playback devices.

    c. Right-click on free space, under Playback tab, select the following options:

    • Show Disabled Devices

    • Show Disconnected Devices

    d. Now search for HDMI output there. If you find it then, right-click on it and select Enable.

    Now try to install the update and check the status. Also follow the steps from the link mentioned below.

    Method 2:

    Step 1:

    Uninstalling the device drivers causing these problems and restarting the computer has helped few of them in resolving similar issue. Let’s try the same and check.

    a. Open device manager.

    b. Right-click on the device causing problem and select Uninstall.

    c. Restart the computer. Restarting the computer might install proper drivers for those devices.

    Step 2:

    Looks like the audio drivers for your computer is not compatible with Windows 7. You may try to install the drivers in Windows XP SP2 compatibility mode as an Administrator. Follow the steps below to install this software in Windows XP SP2 Compatibility mode:

    Download the audio drivers for XP by accessing the below link. Right click on downloaded driver and select Troubleshoot Compatibility.
