    Hey speedbird421,

They are still working with the device manufacturer to confirm this product’s compatibility with Windows 7.

    a. Microsoft Sidewinder Force has no driver for Windows 7 provided by Microsoft. You may go through the below link which clearly talks about Microsoft Sidewinder Force Compatibility:

    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/Details.aspx?type=Hardware&p=Microsoft%20SideWinder%20Force%20Feedback%202%20Game%20Controller&v=Microsoft&uid=E15-00006&pf=5&pi=2&c=Mice%2C%20Keyboards%20%26%20Input%20Devices&sc=Game%20Controllers&os=32-bit

The Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 is USB - and there is a Generic HID driver provided with Windows 7 & 8, x86 and x64 - you don't need additional drives to use it in a game.

Peachson, are you talking about the old style that plugged in to a game port?

This is an OLDDDD post but you can manage the controller just fine in Windows 7 64-bit.

Make sure your MSSWFF2 is powered up and plugged into a USB port (I'm using USB2 - haven't tested it on USB3)

Go to Control Panel -> Devices and Printers

You should see the SideWinder Force Feedback 2

Right mouse click and select Game Controller Settings from the pop-up menu

Select (highlight) Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 Joystick from the Controller list

    Click the Properties button

This brings up the settings and calibration for the joystick

No, you cant set any macros to the buttons with this BUT I can bind the defaults to my in-game key bindings on almost all games.

    Hope this helps.

Indeed, as of November 4th 2013 the MSSWFF2 is correctly identified and a driver will automatically be downloaded from Microsoft Update. All buttons/throttle/point of view and z rotation settings work perfectly for Windows 7 64bit.
