hey,

I've spent a considerable amount of time on several movies using Windows live movie maker; now, when I want to save the project as a movie, the program begins the process, then stops and says "windows movie maker has stopped working." When I click "view details," this is what I get:

I'm not sure if this helps. I've been able to save my movies before (as in it was working earlier this week), now the program will not save at all. I've tried saving "for high definition display," "for computer," with no luck in any case.

One other thing that can cause crashing is an outdated video graphics driver.  I would run dxdiag and go to the Display tab.  Find out the manufacturer of your graphics card/chip (e.g. Intel/AMD/NVidia) and go to their website.  Find a driver update utility to install the latest driver.  See if that helps the save process and prevents crashing.

Another thing that can cause crashing is when using incompatible file types.  If you think you might be using an unusual video file type, try converting to .wmv first.  And if it is audio, try converting to .wma.

I updated Windows following the given procedure, uninstalled windows essentials and deleted the two folders and reinstalled the whole deal.

I'm sad to say it still did not work.
