Hi,

To suspend BitLocker Drive Encryption on a drivea. Click Start, click Control Panel, click System and Security, and then click BitLocker Drive Encryption.****b. Click Suspend Protection for the drive.****c. A message is displayed, informing you that your data will not be protected while BitLocker is suspended and asking if you want to suspend BitLocker Drive Encryption. Click Yes to continue and suspend BitLocker on the drive.****By completing this procedure, you have suspended BitLocker protection on the drive by changing the decryption key to a clear key. To read data from the drive, the clear key is used to access the files. When BitLocker is suspended, TPM validation does not occur and other authentication methods, such as the use of a PIN or USB key to unlock the operating system drive, are not enforced. This allows you to make system changes such as updating the BIOS or replacing a data drive. When you are finished making changes to the computer, click Resume Protection from the BitLocker Drive Encryption Control Panel item to start using BitLocker Drive Encryption again. To turn off BitLocker Drive Encryptiona. Click Start, click Control Panel, click System and Security, and then click BitLocker Drive Encryption.****b. Find the drive on which you want BitLocker Drive Encryption turned off, and click Turn Off BitLocker.****c. A message is displayed, informing you that the drive will be decrypted and that decryption may take some time. Click Decrypt the drive to continue and turn off BitLocker on the drive.

Hope this helps.

    Hi Sarwar,

Are you using BitLocker Drive Encryption to encrypt the drive?

As you are not able to see System and Security in Control Panel, I would suggest you follow the steps.

    **a.**Open Control Panel.

**b.**Under Adjust your computer’s setting page, check if  View by is selected as  Category.

**c.**Now check if you are able to see System and Security.

If it still doesn’t show up, I would suggest you to run System File Checker scan (SFC scan) on the computer which would scan for corrupt system files on the computer and replace them.

Use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows Vista or on Windows 7

    To decrypt the drive

If you are using Bit locker, I would suggest you to follow the steps.

    a.       Right click the drive which you want to decrypt.

    b.      Click Turn off BitLocker. This opens the BitLocker Drive Encryption dialog box. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

To decrypt the drive, click Decrypt the volume. To temporarily suspend BitLocker, click Suspend BitLocker Drive Encryption and then click Yes.
