How can I remove PC Performer ~ which I never installed in the first place. I get a message that the file is missing when I try to uninstall however, it is multiplying! I have a feeling it is the reason my updates for security essentials will not update. Any ideas? Many thanks...

    You can try to un-install from the safe mode sometimes these software which are not uninstalled from the normal mode can be un-installed from the safe mode. You can enter the safe mode by pressing F8 at the start-up and selecting safe mode from the on screen options.

    Regards

    Hi,

    Here is information about it:

    <Removed>

    PC Performer is a PC optimization tool, which promises to speed up the computer, free up its memory, improve its performance, protect user's privacy and do other, usefully-looking, activities. However, when it gets on the system, it becomes obvious that this program shouldn't be kept on it because it can't fulfill what it promisses. According to security experts, PC Performer may slow down the system, change various settings and invent useless files. To sum up, it tries to create a need of its paid services by initiating various reports about errors and then offering to purchase its license. Besides, it seems that it has ability to get inside the system undetected, so we do not recommend trusting PC Performer.

    Try this free Revo Program to remove it.

    And also scan for Malware.

    Download, install, update and scan your System with the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware:
