Email attachments-All of a sudden I am unable to open any of my Email attachments in Windows live mail or from any of my saved documents.What can I do to resolve this problem please?CLIBAY

I'm having the same problem.   I put names on the approved senders list, and e-mails still came with a notice that it was a prohibited file type and was deactivated.  All my attachments are deactivated and I can't get them back. 

I did what Microsoft's website said to do going into the security settings, but the settings only were all or nothing.  I was not willing to allow every type of attachment to come to my computer, but I do still want to get the attachments I used to be able to receive.  What has changed?  According to Microsoft all my updates are current.  PLEASE HELP

Hi all. Problem solved but not without a trip to my local computer shop where a clean up of many infections was necessary. Tip, don't open or download if not 100% certain of it's trusted origin.

If you're currently having issues opening an attachment in Windows Live Mail, kindly try to open the attachment via web mail.

Also, please remove any pop-up blocker and disable the security software of your computer or firewall so we could isolate the issue.

Does it happen with all attachments, or only with a particular type?

Hello Palcouk. Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. All attachments are effected including pdf.

I get no error message, just nothing happens even if I right click and try to "open" that way.

When I get an Email with an attachment I sometimes need to save both to documents. Those attachments that I've saved in the past now wont open either.

Can you help me?

Hi Kitty. Apart from you I've had no other replies. Disappointing. I'm lost without being able to open my email attachments. There must be someone out there who can lead me in the right direction? What did the M website tell you to do?
