Bluetooth is not working with Windows 8.1 full release version.

I just upgraded Windows 8 to 8.1 on my Dell Latitude 10 tablet. When i first started it after successfully upgrading everything was fine. Upon restarting the tablet, bluetooth was not longer available, which is a bit annoying, as i use it to connect a keyboard to it. I restarted the tablet again - at least the bluetooth-device is now showing up in the device manager - but is still displaying error code 19.

I tried to solve the issue by following instructions for searching for updates (no available), troubleshooting (no problem found) and removing the devide from the device manager and reconfiguring it (no change, still code 19). The driver is up to date according to windows 8.1, there is no new driver available. The icon displays a small exlamation mark in the device manager.

Any further comments or suggestions what might help? I really like all the small changes coming with 8.1, but withoout the bluetooth device i am basically screwed. Thanks for suggestions!

I tried Method 1 but after uninstalling that device and removing the driver, it is not appearing in device manager. I tried installing bluetooth driver from manufacturer's site but it can't complete-it shows 'no bluetooth device connected' message.Everything was fine with Windows 8.

I use Lenovo and drivers for Win 8.1 are not available at Lenovo's site.

I had the same problem with my Toshiba Satellite. After much work doing things suggested, with no avail, I tried something on my own. I went to the Device Manager and double clicked on the Bluetooth device to bring up the properties. Under driver, I disabled it, waited a few minutes and then abled it. Than brought up the Bluetooth in PC Settings under PC & Device Settings. It found my Apple mouse and several other Bluetooth devices.

Have a similar problem if the Bluetooth device is off then the Bluetooth drivers are not loaded. if I turn on the device win 8.1 doesn't see it. and there not Bluetooth device in device manager. I tried troubleshooter but it doesn't see Bluetooth. I restarted the Bluetooth services but no luck. but if I leave the Bluetooth device on and restart then win 8.1 see and pairs the device and the Bluetooth drivers appear in the device manager and troubleshooter says everything is working correctly. and the device does work. it's really strange. the Bluetooth worked great before the upgrade. I've updated drivers but still not luck. hope someone figures this out.

I have a Lenovo twist model 3347 with an intel Bluetooth

    Hi,

This issue occurred when the data in the registry for the device and its driver have been damaged. It can be also caused due to an outdated device driver.

    Method 1:

I suggest you to uninstall the Bluetooth driver from the device manager and install the latest driver for the device from the manufacturer website.

Step 1: Uninstall and Reinstall Bluetooth Driver.

Please follow the steps given here to uninstall and then reinstall the Bluetooth driver.

    a) Press Windows key +Xkey when you are at desktop.

    b) Select Device Manager.

    c) Find and double-click Bluetooth driver from the left panel to uninstall

    d) Right-click the device, and click Uninstall.

    e) Windows will prompt you to confirm the device’s removal. Click OKto remove the driver.

    f) After the uninstallation is complete, reboot your computer as soon as possible.

Step 2: Install the Bluetooth driver from the manufacturer’s website.

You can logon to the manufacturer website and install the driver which is compatible with Windows 8.1

You can also refer to the article mentioned below for more information.

    Method 2:

I suggest you to try the following steps and check if it helps/

    a. PressWindows key + R and type RegEdit .

    b. Click on the plus signs (+) next to the following folders.

    c. Go toHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

    d. Right Click on the key in the Left Pane - Export it so you can reverse in case of a mistake. Save as Remove-Filters.reg (any name is ok with .reg as extension).

    e. In the Right Pane look for any of these = UpperFilters - LowerFilters - UpperFilters.bak - LowerFilters.bak

    f. If any exist Right Click on them – Delete

Note: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Back-up-the-registry

    Hope this helps.

Please post back with the status of the issue and we will be glad to assist you further.
