chkdsk added false bad sectors?

Strange issue.  I ran chkdsk /r /f at login, and suddenly went from having 500GB+ free to having 30GB free.  Upon looking at the log, I discovered that chkdsk had marked a massive number of bad sectors, I believe incorrectly.  Is that possible?  The laptop has not be dropped or moved, so I'm almost positive there aren't any HW issues with the drive), the computer is super lightly used and <1 year old.

I've pasted the logs below from the run where it happened, and then a subsequent run where I was hoping the issue would fix itself, but then even more sectors were marked bad.

Is there any way to repair this, short of reformatting the drive?  Or any utilities that might be worth a shot?  Thanks for the help!!

Windows 7, Lenovo Y580
