Renesas Electronics USB 3.0 Host Controller reoccuring issue

Hi,

I keep getting this issue pop up every few days/weeks/months and it has been driving me crazy but I think I have narrowed it down and would like some advice is possible please.

Issue:

USB 3.0 Host Controller Error Code 10

Both front and back USB 3.0 ports go dead.

Cause:

I have no idea at all, I have a feeling it may be TuneUp Utilities 2013/14 or maybe my Samsung Galaxy S3 smart phone.

Fix:

So far uninstalling/deleting drivers, rebooting and installing fresh drivers does not work. it used too but the last 2-3 occasions I couldn't get the error to go away following this process.

I spoke to a Dell Support Technician over the phone and working together, we found that it had to be a possible BIOS issue, since a full format of the PC still had the error when it was brought back up again, leaving only the hardware itself (USB 3.0 ports) or BIOS.

Bringing up F2 menu and doing a F9 reset to default and then an F10 save and exit fixes this issue, every time.

So is this a BIOS issue or a compatibility issue?

I know how to temporarily fix it but I don't know the cause.

Specs:

Alienware Aurora R4

i7 3970X 6 core extreme @ 3.5 (turbo boost 4.3)

Nvidia GeForce GTX 690

Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit

Internet Explorer 10

32 RAM

Liquid Cooled

3TB Seagate hard drive

BIOS A07

If you require anymore information, please let me know.

I do not have any dump reports as the PC has not had a BSOD yet but this is a replacement PC after the last one (same PC and specs) had the exact same issue and basically was not able to be fixed by a Dell technician.

    OK, that sounds good.

What I might suggest at this point is to set the "Windows Driver Foundation - User-mode Driver Framework" service to "automatic" as this may help with any detection issue:

Start > type services.msc in the "Search programs and files" box and press "Enter"

In the right window scroll down to the "Windows Driver Foundation - User-mode Driver Framework" service and double-click it and set the "Startup type" to "Automatic" > OK

     Then restart the computer.

Then if the Renesas USB 3.0 controller issue happens again can you create and provide the .evtx and ,nfo files at the precise time.

The link does not appear to work.

Make sure the minidump files are in a "public folder" "shared with everyone":

Right-click the folder with the minidump files > Sharing > Get a link > Make Public

Then copy and paste the link here.

Sorry about that, I thought it was already public.

Can you provide the following info on the computer?:

Start > type msinfo32 in the "Search programs and files" box and press "Enter" > File > Save > then save as an .nfo file

Then make the resulting .nfo file available.

Also, can you do the following via Windows Live SkyDrive or similar site

Start > type eventvwr in the "Search programs and files" box and press "Enter" > expand "Custom Views" and then right-click "Administrative Events" > select "Save all events in Custom View As" and save as an .evtx file

Then make the resulting .evtx file available via Windows Live SkyDrive or similar site

The following link has information on using Windows Live SkyDrive:
