    Hey speedbird421,

They are still working with the device manufacturer to confirm this product’s compatibility with Windows 7.

    a. Microsoft Sidewinder Force has no driver for Windows 7 provided by Microsoft. You may go through the below link which clearly talks about Microsoft Sidewinder Force Compatibility:

    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/Details.aspx?type=Hardware&p=Microsoft%20SideWinder%20Force%20Feedback%202%20Game%20Controller&v=Microsoft&uid=E15-00006&pf=5&pi=2&c=Mice%2C%20Keyboards%20%26%20Input%20Devices&sc=Game%20Controllers&os=32-bit

Hey, would it be possible to grab my Driver and Software from my old Windows Vista laptop?

I used to use the Joystick in gaming with it and it worked fine on there (1 year ago)

The driver even installed correctly with no problems when I first got the Joystick.

I think that the laptop is 32-Bit but I am unsure, so I shall check soon.

I'll try it and say if it works or not, if anyone even watches this forum or not.

This is the USB and not the games port version of the joystick that is being discussed.

I've got the Microsoft Sidewinder Forcefeedback 2 which I've had since FS '98. I don't believe there is anything in the market that can come close to this joystick. I really don't know why MS discontinued production of this unit since no other come close to its performance. Amazon is advertising a new one for $598.00. I believe I paid a little over a hundred bucks new. As to its applicability, I have two PCs (one with Win7 and the other WinXP) and my joystick work well with either. I have not updated any driver is there is one available. My only problem is that with Win7 I can't find anything in the hardware that will allow me to disconnect the shaker. With WinXP there is a provision to do that - unless anyone of you guys can tell me how. It's annoying with the stick shaking while taxiing down the runway.

seems that in Battlefield 4, the buttons are detected as all sorts of weird names that don't match what they've traditionally been called.  Names like -- for the main trigger, that's called Pad Up.  The thumb button on the stick is called Pad Down.  Button 3 is Pad left, Button 4 is Pad Right.  The thumb directional stick thing is POV N, E, S, W, which makes sense, but then things go stranger -- the throttle lever is Trigger1/Trigger2.  Button 8 on the base is detected as Button 2.  And finally Buttons 5 6, and 7 (also on the base) are detected as Buttons 1, 4, and 3 or something similar.

win7 x64 SP1.  .Net framework 4.5 is installed if that matters -- that was the only major new thing I remember.

There are actually a couple of issues that my stick is developing.. Button 8 has to be pushed really hard to get detected, not sure when that started happening.  This thing doesn't get much use so that was a surprise.  And also, the stick doesn't stay centered on its own as much as it used to (without the hand around it)
