How to remove a program with MSI Failed error

I am trying to remove VMWare Workstation 8.

I've never had any problems with this program during uninstall or installations until this day.

Whenever i try to uninstall the program i get the error: The MSI Failed and the deinstallation stops.

The VMWare Support told me i had to reinstall the windows installer and gave me a link to the microsoft download centre, but it was the wrong one. The download they recommended wasn't for Windows 7. So i'm stuck.

Does anyone have an answer?

    Hi Anil Kumar B,

Thank you for answering! But i had already tried using the fix-it to see if it made any difference.

    Unfortunately it did not.

I am still unable to uninstall VMware and still get the same MSI Failed error.

The VMWare Support centre told me it had something to do with the Windows Installer but i can't figure what.

I'm desperate to fix this problem since i'd like to continue my school work with VMware WS 9.
