Speedlink Strike-FX gamepad driver not recognised

Speedlink Strike-FX gamepad won't work on my laptop. I am running Windows 7. I installed the driver from the disc that came with the gamepad. When the gamepad is plugged in to any USB port it does not work. It has a yellow triangle with black exclamation mark and says drivers are not installed Code 28. I have uninstalled/reinstalled, restarted computer, system restore and start all over install etc. I have used Microsoft Fix It from the website and nothing. Downloaded the drivers from Speedlink website in case the disc was faulty.

No matter what I try I cannot get it to work. I am so frustrated!!! An different ideas?

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

From the issue description you have posted, I understand that you are getting error code 28 while using Speedlink Strike-FX gamepad in Windows 7. I will certainly help you with this issue.

Does the device work on any other computer?

Error Code 28: The drivers for this device are not installed.

    Recommended resolution.

    Install the driver.

You may be prompted to provide the path of the driver. Windows may have the driver built-in. If you are asked for the driver and you do not have it, you can try to download the latest driver from the hardware vendor’s Web site.

In the device Properties dialog box, click the Driver tab, and then click Update Driver to start the Hardware Update Wizard. Follow the instructions to install the driver.

If you face any more issues while working with Windows do post on Microsoft Community Forum.

my son now has a new laptop but we are still having the same issues. If you can't help then I will have to assume that the Speedlink Strike - fx is completely useless and a waste of time and money. Thanks
