And FYI when using Disk CleanUp for Temporary files it will only delete files great than one week (7 days old).
Disk Cleanup in Windows 8.1
Since updating to Windows 8.1. When I use Disk Cleanup it shows data that can be deleted so I check the boxes I want and click OK and Delete the green data bar moves across the box in the middle of the screen like it is deleting everything. Then you go back into Disk Cleanup and all the exact same data (files) is still there to be deleted just like before. So I'm running Disk Cleanup but apparently while it looks like files (data) are being deleted nothing is actually deleted? Even when I click on "Clean Up System Files" and check the appropriate boxes I want and click delete it looks like everything is being deleted the green bar moves slowly across the box on the screen it looks like everything is deleted. However go back into "Clean Up System Files" and all the same data (files) are still there waiting to be deleted? So basically Disk Cleanup looks like its deleting stuff but it is not deleting anything?

You can run the Microsoft Safety Scanner to make sure that the computer is free from viruses.
Microsoft Safety Scanner: http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx
A very good antimalware app are SUPERAntiSpyware (SAS) and MalwareBytes Anti-Malware (MBAM) and running it to catch anything that Microsoft Safety Scanner might miss. Download, install, update, and run scans, with both of these free anti-malware tools:
The recommendation is to use the intelligent quick scan routinely, and do full scans either on a longer periodicity--weekly, monthly--or only when something is found or you have some rəason for suspicion
