If you are talking about commercial songs, unless the artist/publisher has given permission to download those songs, there won't be any legal way to download free .mp3s.  Most of the .mp3 download sites are fraught with peril in the form of malware, browser helper downloads, fake media player updates, etc.

Your best bet is to purchase the songs legally through channels such as Xbox music, Amazon or iTunes.  Alternatively, you can purchase a CD of the song(s) and then rip them to your PC.

On the other hand, if you are looking for sources of free music that artists have already granted permission to use their songs or where the song is in the public domain, check places like the following.  Be sure to always check whether you need to give the artist credit before using a free song in other works, such as your YouTube videos.

Downloaded an app called MP3 search from the windows store.

Seems to work ok.

There's not much free places to get MP3.  But if you just want free music, you can open the Music app on your computer that gives you free streaming (similar to Pandora).  Plus there's other free services like Spotify.
