Space needed for Win 8.1

I have an SSD which currently contains Windows 8 and my program files and has 5GB free space. My second disk for data is a conventional hard disck with 1TB of free space.  I understand that Windows 8.1 64 bit initially downloads around 3.8GB of data then the install process requires a further circa 20GB.  I understand that after download the upgrage process updates the system files.  Do all the downloaded files have to go to the system disk, i.e. C: drive or will they locate themselves on my data drive which has the available space and then update my system files on the SSD.

Many thanks

    The SSD is 64GB

    Windows   21.5GB

    Programs  11.4GB

    Hiberfil      12.9GB

    Pagefile     2.3GB

    swapfile     260MB

Because you have asked the size of the SSD, I assume the Windows 8.1 upgrade must be loaded onto the same drive as the exisitng Windows 8 OS.  I understand that I can't move the hiberfil but could turn off hibernation, delete the file and then turn it back on after the upgrade.  Also I think I should be able to move the pagefile and swapfile.  To do this should create around 15.4GB with the exisitng available space that will take me to just over 20GB.  Would that be enough to load the Windows 8.1 files?

    Thanks

    Graham

What's the size of the SSD and how much of that data could be moved to the 1TB drive either temporarily or permanently?
