Calendar entry shows up 1 hour earlier on Google calendar than on the Windows Phone 8

When I note an appointment in my phones calendar and sync with Google the appointment shows up one hour earlier! My company uses Google calendar so this concerns both company and customer appointments. This made me show up to a customer 1 hour too early!

When I note the appointment on the phone it seems all right. Since Google syncs every 15 mins, it is not obvious that something is wrong. After sync the appointment on Google corresponds with the phone, but one hour wrong. Noted on Google, the appointment is correct both on Google and the phone, and stays like this.

I have also tried Microsoft calendar (outlook.com) for my personal use. I have set my phone to sync with both Google calendar and Outlook.com calendar. It works very well with the Outlook.com calendar.

Can this have something to do with daylight savings?

My phone is a brand new (nov. 2013) Nokia Lumia 925 with Windows Phone 8. The OS is fully updated.

This is a very important feature for me, and as I have understood, this should work on my version of phone.

Can someone help?

    September 2016

For what its worth to future readers -

I started getting a one hour difference in Google calendar and msn Outlook diaries. My Outlook account Calendar settings, when checked via internet explorer sign in, had taken a time zone in Iceland and my location in Slovakia.  These must have changed without my input.

I have reset these to GMT and London and my tests show the diary times are now reflected correctly between my android Google calendar and my MSN calendar.

However, I have had to go back and manually edit previous diary entries to realign them by one hour. Now, for anything that matters, I write the meeting start time in the event title.

A one hour change certainly appears to be a daylight savings time issue (or time zone issue). I would check and verify that the time is correct not only on your phone and PC but also on the Google calendar settings. Not sure what else to offer.....

    Hi Tom,

Can i suggest that you contact Google support as maybe the problem lays in config at admin level? No disrespect to most of the MS employees but their support system is worse than fking useless but that's how they are told to work. It took me 9 bloody months for them to fix a problem they created thru forums. No one in the uk that could speak cohesivley helped me. Don't get me started...

i hav access to my company admin panel, a call to Google should help. The number is easy to find and the staff call you back and are diligent in following up. Microsoft take note.

Tom, do you use Google Apps For Business? Lets ignore Outlook for now.

i do and my 925 syncs perfectly with Google online, that should be a starting point.

is it all appointments or just some? Random or across time zones?

Are you Microsoft employee? If you are, stop pretending naive and acknowledge the problem and solve it. Up to update the calendar worked OK, but after the update problem started transferring the meeting for one hour in advance. And you're aware of that. Now my phone is like Nokia 7110 which iI had before. I had to take the old Android phone again because I need to be organized which is imposibile with Windows phone. This is sad Microsoft seems they were all right when they told me not to buy a Windows phone. Admit the problem and solve it.

Any news about this Jack? This is not a small problem. I have searched the internett for solutions and there are litterally thousends of complaints about this. Neither Google nor Microsoft seems to take responsibility. Google Calendar, like Outlook Calendar, is widely used by people and organizations. If WP and Google Calendar cannot cooperate, this is a major drawback for WP as a business tool. I want to express it this way since Android is the dominating OS on smartphones and WP is not. Doing nothing benefits Android / Google.

I like my Nokia Lumia 925 a lot. It would be a pity to buy an Android phone just to collaborate with the workers in my company. But I am mesured on the results of my job, and I need the tools to get the job done.

I have spent a lot of time checking my settings for timezone on Google, outlook.com and Windows Phone. I have checked them over and over again. Please do not reply with a question to check these settings. It´s done.

My phone is a Lumia 925 with WP8. It uses CalDAV so synchronize with Google. I understand that this is the future, since Google´s support for EAS expires Des 31th 2013.

Microsoft, please take ownership of the problem. You have a superb OS. An excellent choice for business users, efficient, clear and free from unnecessary gadgets. But the calendar has to work - even the connection to Google Calendar!
