    Hi Vishnu,

Were there any changes made on the computer prior to the issue?

It seems that you are facing issues with high CPU usage on the computer. This issue might have also caused due to some third party programs. Follow these methods to troubleshoot the issue:

    Method 1:

I would suggest you to follow these steps and run the System maintenance troubleshooter:

    a. Open **Control panel**.

    b. Click on Troubleshooting.

    c. Click View all on the left pane of the screen.

    d. In the list of options, click on System maintenance.

    e. Click Next and follow the on-screen instructions.

    Method 2:

Let us check if any third party program is interfering with the system performance.

    Step 1:

I would suggest you to restart the computer in **safe mode** with networking and check if the issue persists.

    Step 2:

If the issue doesn’t occur in Safe mode, you may try to restart the computer in **clean boot** mode to check if any third party application is causing the issue, as clean boot helps in eliminating software conflicts.

Note: After troubleshooting, see the section “How to reset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshooting” to return the computer to a Normal startup mode.

I would suggest you to check the Event Viewer to see what exactly is causing the issue. Try the following steps:

    a)    Move the mouse to the bottom left of the screen and right-click to get see a list of options.

    b)    Select Event Viewer and click an event log in the left pane.

    c)    Double-click an event to view the details of the event. Events are classified as error, warning, or information, depending on the severity of the event.

Let us know the results and provide us the event viewer logs. If you need further assistance, we’re here to help.

    Hi Vishnu,

I hear you and can relate to your situation.

I believe Microsoft is deliberately designing so called "services" like wermgr.exe to sabotage our PCs when they are using anything other than Microsoft Software.

Their deliberate impairing of my ability to mix large music projects is directly because of the disruption wermgr.exe causes on a HUGE scale - I need real time playback and recording capability, and do NOT use their crappy software in this process, OTHER than the 5th rate coding in Windows 10.

The most recent update is causing untold havoc on many users, and Microsoft has a deliberate policy of trying to push us into PAYING them for support for their negligent coding!!!  Complete BS and totally unethical.

I'm very technical, and the way they've set things up, they make it almost impossible to disable wermgr.exe from flooding your local network with completely unnecessary and disruptive instance of this spying service, let alone how it floods both the main M2 NVMe PCIe 3 C drive SSD with crap, as well as another couple of key drives, AND causes untold system interrupts to the i7 7700K CPU (which cruises at well below 25% utilization for all the cores).

My problem is that in playing/recording music in real time requires all processing is done sequentially in time to avoid freezing/cracking/popping/distorting the audio output to my high end audio interface and other gear.

Instead, if I am doing my normal processing with say 50 and up channels (with compression/EQ and other VST processing), in real time I can no longer mix or record properly.

I ran latencymon and identified that Microsoft's services/drivers are causing well over 70% of the issues (the other is vsmon for internet security, but at least I can uninstall that and stay offline while I work, then reinstall the cyber security software later - NOT optimal, but a workaround).

When I requested support from Microsoft I was given the run around and was pushed towards getting paid support.  Now if this was MY error or created by me, sure, OK, paying up to get help I could wear.  But the greedy profit preying like this when Microsoft is clearly negligent, and I'd argue deliberately sabotaging MY work, and asking me to pay them like you would to the cyber criminals who use ransom-ware, then forcing us to PAY them for their deliberate sabotage is NOT ACCEPTABLE.

The joke of an email I just received from the so called support gave me the most basic 101 BS process that is just WRONG and totally ineffective.  What a load of BS!!!

Good luck to all trying to grapple with this new page in Microsoft extortion!  I so wish there was a viable alternative to Microsoft, and all the software was portable to other more reliable and fair minded Operating system providers.

I had to rename the executable, werfault.exe and werfaultsecure.exe, located in windows>syswow64

I couldn't do that from windows, so I needed a rescue cd distribution or live system on cd, my easiest choise was Knoppix that I installed on a usb stick (~700 Megs), booted with it and put a  _  in their names.

I don t know how important are theese files, but because of them my pc stalled, so it was worth it.

    good luck! :)

    I tried the first method.

it showed that the high disk usage due to windows error report is fixed but still in task manger there is the windows problem reporting program which keps on increasing.
