No Audio Output Device is installed Windows 7

Hi, this is my first thread so bear with me.

About two weeks ago, I lost my sound and the sound notification icon has a red "X" and it says every time I move my mouse over "No Audio Output Device is installed"

I've tried the following:

  1. Re-installing the driver by uninstalling the driver on Device Manager then clicking "Scan for hardware changes" to install the software
  2. Updating the driver by using Driver Booster by IObit

I've all sorts of threads and discussions on this but none of the methods seem to work

Specs:

  • Windows 7 64-bit
  • TOSHIBA Satellite C660-2KF
  • Intel Celeron B815 1.60GHz
  • Realtek High Definition Audio

I haven't got any other sound managers or anything, just the standard Realtek HD Audio Manager

Thanks

I've already done that, didn't work

I'm starting to think that there something wrong about the registry

Also don't suggest it's a virus, I've got IObit Malware Fighter, definition is ALWAYS up-to-date
