Will microsoft store get the app "square register" for squareup?  My employer would like for us employee's have it on our phone's for payment of services.  And I had it on my old phone, and recently got a new (windows8) phone.  Is microsoft in the process of getting this app? or Do I need to go get a different (NON windows) phone?

    Hi michaelromanyshyn,

Thank you for posting on the forum.

I suggest that you contact Squareup directly and ask if they are developing an app for the Windows Phone Store or if they plan on developing an app in the future. It would be Squareup who is responsible for making an app compatible with your Windows Phone 8 device.

    Kind Regards,

    Sheena M.

I hate to be a grammer ****, but it's "losing", not losing. At any rate, it seems unlikely that Square would go out of their way to support a platform with such a very very small percentage of users. It always makes me laugh when people say "They will lose me s a customer.", as if an individual can single-handedly change the course of product development. Maybe I can just tell Microsoft they will lose me as a customer until they develop a version of Micosoft Office for Android too. That one is not going to happen of course - but most of product development depends on percentages. Anyone who buys a Windows phone expecting lots of applications any time soon hasn't done much research.

I Think Windows Phone better push to get these credit card payment systems on board while the USA market waits for NFC to come about. They helped several other companies port there apps over. You would think that Microsoft that has the business  accounts and office on the Windows phone would push to be come a more business friendly phone. SO Microsoft help your Windows Phone community by encouraging those companies to move their service over to the Windows phone. Windows Phone and Surface users would like to transactions on our devices to. and have options of doing so.

wow. that is what i call tech discrimination. they always say they don't have plans to.

Thanks for your feedback. As indicated earlier, we don’t currently have plans to support Windows devices, but we’re constantly working to improve our product based on the feedback we receive from our customers. I’ll be sure to document your feature request with the appropriate team.

Please keep in mind that Square will be able to use and share any idea you submit without any obligations or restrictions. For more details, see section 45 of our Merchant User Agreement.

Keep an eye out for any updates to the app.

    Best Regards,
