I own a Nokia Lumia 620 device with Windows Phone OS version 8.0.10328.78. It connected easily to my HP ProBook 4440s laptop while it had WIndows 7 and Windows 8 OS. However, since upgrading to Windows 8.1, It seems to be unable to connect to my phone through the Windows Phone app on my laptop. The data cable is fine as my phone keeps charging while it is connected. On the "devices and printers" window, it displays the message that my windows phone device has some driver problem and it asks me to re-install the driver for windows phone. However, I am unable to find any suitable driver and troubleshooting does not seem to work. Any solution to this problem would be of great help.

    Hi Dibyajit,

Are you able to view the Windows Phone in File Explorer?

I would suggest you to connect the Windows Phone to the computer and install all the latest Windows Updates including Optional Updates. Check if it helps.

Hope this information helps. Reply to the post with updated status of the issue to assist you further.

Doesn't work for me either, since WP 8.1 update. Rebooting doesn't work. MTP & Nokia Lumia 620 (RM-846) devices show problem icon in Device Manager. Properties dialog show this:

"Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)"

    Hi,

I had the same problem with Nokia Lumia 620 with WP 8 and Windows 8.1.

Just download Windows Media Feature Pack for Windows 8.1 from

Thanks for the help. I tried to update, but neither the Windows Update utility, nor the HP Support Assistant utility found any driver missing or outdated. However, I switched off my phone and switched it on again. Since then, it has worked perfectly. The problem has been fixed for now. So, I guess it will not recur. Thanks again for the help!
