All of a sudden I can't go from Lightroom to Photoshop because this message pops up: The program can't start because MSVCP100.dll is missing from your computer."  It will eventually open the program but I seem to be missing my hookup to Nik software ... aarrgh - and I don't have a copy of CS6 to reinstall ...

Ok, this file is part of the VisualStudio redist package that Nik should have included; but seems to not have done.

To fix, I went to http://www.microsoft.com/en-au/download/confirmation.aspx?id=30679 and downloaded the Microsoft redist package and installed it (note that there is a 32bit and 64bit version). The package is a .exe that will install itself and includes this dll file.

    Hello,

I have just encountered this problem today as well.  As it turns out, it is Google's NIK Collection that is the culprit.  (At least it is for me.)

Google ugraded the collection yesterday.  When you open the software and you have an internet connection, the software will download the upgrade and update the software automatically without your knowledge or consent.

When I discovered this, this morning, I uninstalled Nik and re-installed the original version.  The software worked after that.  While contacting Google NIK team, the software updated itself again and is now not working!!!

I have been informed by that team that I am the only one having this issue.  OBVIOUSLY NOT!!  There is no way to stop the software from updating itself; which means, I now have a useless piece of software on my machine that I cannot use until Google fixes this problem.

    I hope this helps.

Thanks to all who participated in this thread.

I had this problem today and went from WTF, to search, to NIK on the phone, and to downloading the fix from an email link in short order. It was still a pain, but not a long period trying to figure out what was wrong.

I also discovered the exact same problem this morning when opening Photoshop CS5.  Cannot open CS5 so I've gone back to CS3 but of course there is no Nik software suite with my list of plug-ins.  Did get CS5 to open but as with previous posted message found Nik software suite missing from my list of plug-ins.
