I also have this problem. Until about 2 weeks ago, changing the regedit initialkeyboardindicators to 2 solved this and numlock would turn on upon boot up after shutdown. Now it is always off, and the only way to keep it on upon boot on the login screen is to disable fast star, but without fast startup my computer takes over a minute to load, so that's not an option. There has to be a way to have both as I had both until about 2 weeks ago?
Num Locks disabled on Logitech Keyboard
I have two keyboards, a solar Y-R0016 and a Y-RBN90. Both keyboards worked just fine until I upgraded to Windows 8.1 from 8.0. Now, whenever I boot-up my keyboard, the Num Locks is disabled and I have to manually turn it on with the Num Lock keypad. I checked for updated drivers through Windows and it came back that I had the latest drivers. I un-installed the drivers, and the Logitech SetPoint software, then downloaded the latest versions and installed, but the same issue persists. There is provision in the keyboard setup to disable the Num Locks feature, but it is not checked off.
I contacted Logitech Support and they say it is a Microsoft issue in not updating the drivers and will not provide any further support. I just purchased the Y-R0016 so am surprised that they don't have updated drivers. Comments please.

2013-11-22T18:10:30+00:00 Forgot to answer Question 1 - No, I have not made any changes to my computer. The original operating system was Windows 7 64bit and Acer does not provide support for Windows 8 or 8.1. Their last BIOS update is dated June, 2010

2013-11-22T16:13:00+00:00 It is an Acer M5811-E1522, with Intel i7 860 processor, 8 GB RAM, 1 TB HD. Acer did not provide any documentation whatsoever with this computer. The user guide is a generic guide but contains no information on the computer or system. Their support is terrible and for the most part, non existent. I had updated all the chipset drivers about 2 months ago, but not the BIOS as I haven't been able to find one. The mother board is an Acer H57M01, at least as far as I can determine. BIOS is American Megatrends.
