Problem solved. Exchanged it for a logitech keyboard. The logitech has been working flawlessly.
Wired Keyboard 600 randomly stops responding.
I just bought the Wired Keyboard 600 and it randomly stops responding to inputs and does thisssssssssssssssssssss. I installed the driver mouse and keyboard center for windows 8, same problem. I am on windows 8.1. I tried to refresh windows 8.1 thinking that I may have installed a bad driver, same problem. I tried to installed the older windows 7 64bit driver, same problem. The only way to get the keyboard to respond again is by unplugging the USB cable and replugging it in. I tried plugging it into USB 3.0 port, same problem. Is there a way to fix this or do I need to return this keyboard and get a logitech one instead?

2013-12-25T16:43:33+00:00 Yep checked in both modes. I even did a complete reinstall of windows 8.1 without installing any 3rd party apps/drivers and the issue still happens. This issue is only happening with the 600 keyboard and none of my other keyboards/devices. When it happens the media keys remain functional while none of the keys work. While playing a game my character gets stuck walking/running in the direction thats being pressed right before the keyboard locks up and just remains that way until I replug the board. This seems driver related to me because why would the key get stuck and stick until i replug in the board? If it was the actual board wouldn't the key stop being recognized as soon as I unplug the board? Like I said, right now im running 0 none OS apps and im getting the same issue. As im typing this to you it has happened twice. This is getting extremely annoying. Im starting to think that the wise thing to do would be to just get a totally different keyboard from a different brand. Sucks because I really like this board.....

2013-12-24T21:30:51+00:00 Thanks for the reply, I actually have plugged in 3 keyboards since trying to find a solution to this problem. 1 is another microsoft USB keyboard, while the other is a ps/2. I have been reading around and found a few others with the same problem. They all seem to think that its microsoft driver related. Once the keyboard stops responding and it does thisssssss all of the media keys still function properly. In device manager I have no errors. I have tried rolling back the keyboard drivers, reinstalling and updating to the latest drivers on the link you provided, no results. When this happens the other 2 keyboard function perfectly fine. Only a reboot or a re-plugin gets the keyboard back functional for a short time until it happens again. I truly do think this is driver related on MS part. I couldn't find any win 8.1 drivers for it so maybe the 8 drivers aren't fully compatible? I have tried it on another computer. I also tried it on my previous motherboard before I upgraded to the asus 9 series board 2 days ago and got the same issue. The reason why I went with a Microsoft keyboard is because I figured since im using a MS OS it would be 100 percent compatible for sure with no issues. Guess I was wrong

2013-12-24T10:36:28+00:00 Hi,
1. Did you check the issue status by using different Keyboard with your computer?
2. Did you check the Device status by using the Wired Keyboard 600 with different computer?
This issue normally occurs when there is any driver conflicts. Let's analyze and identify the cause of the issue.
Method 1:
Uninstall, reinstall the keyboard driver from the “Device Manager and check the issue status.
a) Press Windows and X keys together.
b) Click “Device Manager”.
c) Locate and expand “Keyboard” option.
d) Right-click on the “keyboard device" and click on “uninstall”.
e) Restart the computer once the driver uninstalls.
Download and install the Windows 8 compatible driver from the following ink and check
Wired Keyboard 600.

Method 2:
Check if you can experience the issue in ‘Safe mode’; if safe mode works fine then set the computer to ‘Clean boot’ state to check for software conflicts.
Step 1:
Windows Startup Settings (including safe mode).
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/windows-startup-settings-including-safe-mode
Step 2:
Keep the computer on a clean boot status and check. If everything works fine after a clean boot, you can infer that some third party services are causing the issue. Proceed with the remaining steps to pin-point out the third party service. After you figure out the issue causing program, you may have to update or install a latest version of the program.
