How do I update my Windows Phone

Thank you for posting to the forum regarding you desire to update your Windows phone.  We can certainly understand wanting to have the most up to date device available and hope the information that follows helps you get this phone updated.

The first thing I would do is verify the current OS version on your phone against the update history here, http://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/how-to/wp7/basics/update-history.  You can verify the OS version on your phone by going to settings > about > more info.  This will at least confirm that an update may be available for your phone.

Any time an update is available for the phone you will find this out with phone notifications.  If you have not received a notification go to settings > phone update.  If this says your phone is up to date, it is likely that there are no available updates available for your phone make and model in your region.

If you are not finding an update to be available it is likely that the update is not being released in your region, for your phone by your carrier.  If you have additional questions about the availability of an update you will want to discuss this with your mobile operator and phone manufacturer.  We have released the update to carriers and the carriers are the ones pushing the update out to customers.
