Original Title: copy DVD onto laptop

How do I copy a DVD onto a laptop with no disc/dvd drive?

I tried the following.

I copied the DVD onto my desktop hard drive.

The videos play perfect on the desk top.

I transferred the files to my laptop via usb cable.

The files play on the laptop (VLC Media player)  but with no sound.

**Note: if I choose to open the video with 'Movie-Maker' I get the sound but no video.

How do I get both?

Thanks.

    Hi Larry,

This issue may occur if the files were not transferred completely or if the files are damaged. Let's try few steps to resolve this issue.

Does the issue with sound only occur while playing these files?

I would suggest you to copy the files again to computer and check if it helps.
