I can't copy and replace files.

I don't get the options to copy and replace skip or cancel. If I try to copy a newer version of a file over an older one, it just makes a copy of the one I'm trying to copy instead of giving me a choice to copy over the old file.

I'm trying to update a program on my computer, and there is a file that you have to copy to the folder that has the older version. So I'm just trying to copy a file in one folder and replace the outdated file with the same name as the new one. When I copy the file to the folder and try to replace the older file that has the same name, it just makes a copy of the file in the folder and doesn't give me the option to copy and replace it.

Using which program are the newer files being created in,

How are you saving the files,

Copy and paste does just that,

If you want to save a file use Save as and choose the same existing name.

Then you will be prompted for further actions.
