Asus Vivotab ME400C Slow to Wake Up After Windows 8.1 Upgrade

Since the upgrade to Windows 8.1 when I tap the Start button on my Asus Vivotab ME400C the response time for wake up has gone from less than a second (Win 8.0) to more than 8 seconds before it wakes.  That is very distracting as I don't know if I actually make the "tap" or missed it.

Is there some setting that I can do to make the response time improve.

Apparently there is a problem with the Intel Graphic Accelerator driver included with Windows 8.1 that the Asus computer does not like.  Symptom is a notice bubble that the Intel Graphics driver had a problem.  So it is not really a problem with waking up.  The problem is the video driver has failed forcing Windows to restart the driver... hence the long delay.

The fix is to re install a prior version.

I found the answer here: http://forum.tabletpcreview.com/asus/59081-8-1-graphics-driver-fix-asus-vivotab-smart-me400c-until-ms-update-figures-out.html

I followed all the steps and also had to follow Post #10 to make it work.

I will be interested to know when the driver itself is fixed/updated so that I can re-enable the auto download of drivers.
