Hi,

I just recently bought a Logitech H450 headset and realized that I continusly get USB composite device error and it says the device cannot start. Currently I am running Windows 7 and I have tested the exact same headset on a fairly new Macbook Pro so I dont think the headset is a problem. Please respond as quickly as posssible! Thanks!

    Hello Ramesh,

Thank you for the very quick response.

Did you make any recent changes (Hardware or Software) on your computer prior to this issue? No I did not do any changes to Hardware or Software prior to this issue.

``Have you tried any other USB headset on this computer, was the result same?`` Yes I have but the device did not need to install a driver if I recall correctly. I know it`s not the headset because it
works just fine on my Mac.

``Have you tried to connect Logitech H540 headset to different USB ports, was the result same?`` Yes I have and the result was the same.

I had already tried METHOD 1 before and it just tries to reinstall the driver which does not work.

I also have tried METHOD 2 but the problem is I had 2 USB composite devices prior to purchasing this headset and the Logitech headset showed up as a 3rd USB composite device with a exclamation mark next to it. I reinstalled the 3rd USB composite device only
     to see the same error.

I already tried updating all my drivers and I still have the exact same error.

    Hello Kyle,

Thank you for keeping us updated about the issue with detailed information.

If issue is still persist try the following steps.

    Method 1

If issue is still persisting I would suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the USB Host controllers and you can try the following steps.

    1. Click on Start, and then click Control Panel.
    2. Click on System and Maintenance, click System, and then click Device Manager.
    3. Note If Control Panel is in Classic View, double-click System, and then click Device Manager.
    4. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow.
    5. In Device Manager, double click to expand "Universal Serial Bus controllers", right click on the Host Controller, click "Uninstall" and click "OK".

Check if at all there is an exclamation mark along the driver, it suggests issues with the driver installed.

         6. Repeat the step 2 to uninstall all items under "Universal Serial Bus controllers".

         7. Then, restart your computer and Windows 7 will reinstall all USB controllers automatically.

    Method 2

If the issue still persists, I would request you to check for chipset driver updates that you can get at the manufacturer website. The chipset drivers normally incorporate USB controller drivers as well.

Try to install the Chipset drivers from the link provided below.
