lifecam VX1000 and win8.1

Why on earth can i no longer use my Microsoft lifecam VX-1000 on Microsoft new windows 8.1 operating system?????

surely its easy to fix this???

help please.

no need for a thousand questions it just no longer works , it did on windows 8. it works when opened on computer, just will not work on sites like skype.

    For devices to work with Windows Store app, the driver has to be AVSTREAM compliant driver.  Some of the cameras including this one still use older drivers and as a result they don't work with modern apps.

    Product sheet for VX-1000 which is available here also indicates that device is not supported on OS’s after Windows 7.

    hai thanks for ur input. however there was some magic as the cam was working  beyond windows 7 had it running on 8 stopped on 8.1. cant understand why a simple tweek cant be done. 

    Dont get me wrong i do appreciate your help. guess i need to find a windows list of web cams that will operate on windows 8.1. dare you Microsoft to prepare one for everyone to see!!!!!
