Before we proceed I would require some more information to assist you better.
- What is the make and model no of the keyboard?
- Does it also give you any kind of error message?
- Do you remember making any changes to the system prior to this issue?
- Is the keyboard not working on all the applications?
- When you say "When I try to use the keyboard in any other application, no letters", which other application are you referring to?
I would suggest you to try the following methods:
Method 1:

Method 2:
**Are there any yellow question marks in Device Manager?**If yes what is the Device Error code?
Step1:

To see Hidden Devices (Non Plug and Play Drivers) you will need to refer these steps.
a) Select View
b) Show Hidden Devices.
It is necessary to do this every time you open Device Manager if you need to see them.
Step 2: If there is yellow question marks in device manger
Please refer to the following steps to un-install & reinstall that device drivers from device manager:
- Click on Start and in Start search box type in "Device Manager" and press
Enter.
- In Device Manager, double click **on that device.**3. It will show you the device driver name, select that device and then
right click on it.
- Now select properties.
- In the properties window, under Driver tab, click on Uninstall button.
- After the uninstalling the drivers restart the computer and check with the issue.

Method 3:
Step 1: Boot the computer in Safe mode and check if the issue persists.
Safe mode starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers. Startup programs don't run in safe mode, and only the basic drivers needed to start Windows are installed.

Step 2: If the issue does not persists in Safe Mode then perform a clean boot to check if any third party application is causing the issue, as clean boot helps in eliminating software conflicts.
