What is LSI Network-LSI PCI-SV92EX Soft Modem?

Do I need it if I already have Yahoo Messenger/ Skype/MSN Messenger? It is a very large program and would it affect abything in my computer if I remove it?

    What is LSI PCI-SV92EX Soft Modem?

    This is the software driver for the LSI PCI Soft Modem which is required to connect the device to the user's PC. Interface device with the memory required for receiving, transmitting, and buffering data sent between the host system (soft modem stack) and the DAA or line codec.

    Overview

    LSI PCI-SV92EX Soft Modem is a software program developed by LSI. The most common release is 2.2.100, with over 98% of all installations currently using this version. Upon being installed, the software adds a Windows Service which is designed to run continuously in the background. Manually stopping the service has been seen to cause the program to stop functing properly. It adds a background controller service that is set to automatically run. Delaying the start of this service is possible through the service manager. The programs's main executable is agr64svc.exe and has been seen to consume an average CPU of less than one percent, and utilizes about 1.09 MB of memory. The setup package generally installs about 2 files. Relative to the overall usage of users who have this installed on their PCs, most are running Windows 7 (SP1) and Windows Vista (SP2). While about 93% of users of LSI PCI-SV92EX Soft Modem come from the United States, it is also popular in Canada and Thailand.
