PostScript Printer Driver for Windows 7

I am trying to convert Pagemaker 7.0 files to PDF and cannot do so without a PostScript printer driver.

The driver on the PM install disc will not install.

The driver available on the Adobe website will not install.

The HP tech support cannot help me. They have directed me back to Adobe.

The tech support at Adobe is no help at all unless I want to pay them $140.00 to use the software I already purchased from them.

Where and how can I get a PostScript Printer Driver for my 64-bit Windows 7 machine?

Try this. It is not 100% but it works for me in most situations. I have PageMaker 7.0 in Windows Vista (similar to Windows 7). I'm still looking for a better solution but in the mean time, at least I can export most PageMaker 7.0 (.pmd) documents to Adobe PDF.

Go to Control Panel - Printers

Right Click in an empty spot - select "Add Printer ..."

    Choose "Add a local printer"

Check box "Use an existing port"

Select "FILE (Print to file)" (you can experiment but I used this option)

    Click Next

    Under '"Manufacturer" - Choose "Generic"

Under "Printers" - Choose "MS Publisher Color Printer"

Click Next and finish out the Wizard

    Good Luck

May be ancient history for you by now, but I have had same problem in loading driver from my PM7 disc onto a new laptop. Did you ever discover how to do it? Thanx

ALL of the links for "help" on this issue are BROKEN.  So if someone wants to get an answer to this problem, those links will do you no good at all.  Luckily I'm trying to do this within a VM, and my host OS (Linux) can work with my PS printer just fine.  Of course, trying to use "Windows Update" gives me a dialogue that will NEVER get anywhere even after leaving it for 20-30 minutes.  So unless someone can point to a regular, straightforward download, rather than trying to show off MS' cleverness at making a day-long process out of a 5-minute task, it will never work.
