Just encountered the same problem. Solved in in about half an hour using this simple uninstall-guide http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923. After having uninstalled all the apple-components (as in guide), I deleted the related Apple-folders in Program Files. Afterwards I rebooted and installed Itunes again, and the system error hasn't re-occurred yet :)
APSDaemon.exe - System Error
Suddenly I have begun receiving the following error message:
APSDaemon.exe - System Error
The program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer.
Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.
I have been unable to find a free solution....nothing but purchases.

2014-01-28T12:31:17+00:00 I can't get Apple Mobile Device uninstalled either. Nor Apple Application Support. Error started after downloading the latest update. I uninstalled iTunes and am now stuck with this error. I'm not techy and don't know what to do. =(
Have you tried stopping all Apple services from Task Manager or Services?
AppleMobileDeviceHelper.exe
AppleMobileServices.exe
APSdaemon.exe
Bonjour service or mDNSResponder.exe
To get to Task Manager, just hit CTL+Alt Del keys, then select the Processes tab.
To get to Services, right-click on Computer or My Computer, select Manage.
In the Manager list for Win 7, select arrow next to Services and Applications, then hit Services.
In XP, to get to Services, right-click on Computer or My Computer, select Manage.
Select arrow next to Services and Applications, then plus sign next to Services.
Look in the list for some of the above.
