Here are the codecs I have installed.
They seem to be in order and complete. Do you see any missing?

Hello,
I cannot get the audio stream to play through the surround sound channels - center or Sub Out from my audio card from any application although in the windows Sound settings I can click on a speaker and it plays the note to that channel.
My hardware is as follows:
Motherboard: ASUS
Model: P8Z77-V
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3570K CPU @ 3.40GHz
Onboard Audio: Realtek
Audio Codec: ACL892
Audio Driver Version: 6.0.1.7023
Things I tried:
I went to the ASUS website and downloaded Realtek Audio Driver V6.0.1.7023 for Windows Win8.1 32bit & Win8.1 64bit.(WHQL):
http://support.asus.com/download.aspx?SLanguage=en&p=1&s=39&m=P8Z77-V&os=&hashedid=ABep6fu3PbH0d2BW
I ran the installation - it removed the previous driver, rebooted, loaded new driver, rebooted, results are the same.
Testing of each channel works fine from Realtek HD Audio Manager or using Windows Sound>Configure tool then clicking on the speaker.
Is there a fix for this? How can I get the software to route the audio through those outputs?
Update: I tried a non-windows media player (AVS) and the surround channels worked when the option was selected. This means the issue is within the Microsoft applications. I still cannot get surround to work with Window Media Player or Windows Media Center. I have tried going through the sound setup in WMC but even when 5.1 or 7.1 is selected the channels output nothing. I played the same music file in all programs.

I have tried turning off, rebooting, turning on, rebooting those windows features.
There is still no surround channel sound from WMC or WMP but still works fine with 3rd party software player.
When I click on the Sub channel or surround channels in the MS Sound>Config Speaker Setup it does produce the sound however Windows Media programs are not using the Sub channel or any other surround channel. Just the Stereo L/R channels are working.

I do not see Speaker Fill as an option but this made me explore other possible settings. I do have something called DTS Connect.
I check it and it does make the surround channels have output with Windows Media applications.
This does work but cancels other settings. I will try it with a few different files/movies/music to see how well it works.
Thanks,
Perry
