Original Title: Blue Screen issue

Was wondering why my computer keeps crashing to blue screen.  This is highly unusual on my system that I have owned for at least 4 years.  Am fairly savy with computers.  Is this a result of a windows update?  I am really hoping not to have to reinstall windows as I have WAY to much on this computer

Seems it is always relating to ntoskrnl.exe

Do you share a computer with another user that may have it installed?

Various Bitdefender drivers are listed in the modules list, and also loaded:

    Example...

    • avc3.sys: BitDefender Active Virus Control filter driver
    • avckf.sys: BitDefender Active Virus Control Kernel Filtering driver
    • bdfndisf6.sys: BitDefender Firewall

    ....etc

    Patrick

Lance, thanks for the update. That could have definitely contributed to the crashes!

    Thanks, Lance!

We have two consistent bug checks:

    DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (d1)

This indicates that a kernel-mode driver attempted to access pageable memory at a process IRQL that was too high.

A driver tried to access an address that is pageable (or that is completely invalid) while the IRQL was too high. This bug check is usually caused by drivers that have used improper addresses.

^^ cmudaxp.sys = C-Media Audio Interface Driver (WDM) by C-Media OR ASUS Xonar DG Audio Interface driver OR HTO CLARO Audio Interface Driver.

    -------------

    1. You have various troublesome Asus bloatware listed in the modules list, such as AiCharger.sys which is the Asus Charger driver. I also see Asus PC Probe, etc.

    2. Remove and replace BitDefender with Microsoft Security Essentials for temporary troubleshooting purposes:

    BitDefender removal - http://www.bitdefender.com/support/how-to-uninstall-bitdefender-333.html

    MSE -  http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/security-essentials-download

    3. sptd.sys is listed and loaded in your modules list; SCSI Pass Through Direct Host - Daemon Tools (known BSOD issues with Win 7 and 8). Please remove it ASAP with the uninstaller tool - http://www.duplexsecure.com/en/downloads

    4. Update your audio drivers.

    Patrick
