resident evil 5 error could not find ordinal in xboxlive.dll

Need for "xlive.dll" !

I recently installed Resident Evil 5 on my XP-SP3 PC and receive the error that "RE5DX9.exe-Ordinal not found." Here is the error from the Event Viewer. The ordinal 5297 could not be located inthe dynamic link library xlive.dll. How can I correct this issue?

Hello majidhirad, welcome.

Give this a shot, the xlive.dll actually comes in the 'Games for Live' package installer. The download link is below:

http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=128962

  1. Download the package
  2. Right click the package and choose 'Run as Administrator'
  3. Install the application and restart your computer afterwards
  4. Try and run the game

    This is just someone who stumbled onto this problem with RE5 recently (2014) and just letting anyone else that finds this know that it still works even after GFWL got shut down, you can't log in but the dll file is downloaded and you are able to play RE5

    I'm using Window XP. I'm facing the same problem . is it the linked you provided can use for XP as well ?  or It only for Window Vista and above ?
