Hello! I have an encrypted hard drive in Windows 7. A few days ago, my friend did quick format on this encrypted drive and all my data there was lost. How can I recover my data? I need my data there.

OK! What you should do is really simply:

1). Decrypt this hard drive on your computer.

2). Restore all your lost drive data back with some professional data recovery tool. There are many data recovery tools out there. But, not all of them can work as efficiently as you think. Therefore, you'd better search a lot to seek a proper one for your drive.

Note: Next time, never try to format any drive or card without a data backup.

Based on my personal experiences, the quick formatting could not erase your data completely. Therefore, you definitely do have chances to get back your data, provided that you’ve not rewritten your needed data with anything else.

Step1. Stop saving anything else on this formatted hard drive.

Step2. Recover your needed data back by applying data recovery software. In these days, data recovery software would help any computer noob retrieve their data back easily. Therefore, don’t worry!

What you should do is to select a proper data recovery program for your drive data.

In my part, I would firstly recommend you to try some drive data recovery freeware like Recuva <advertisement removed>

You could easily find them on the internet.

Step3. Save the copies of the recovered data to another computer in case of data recovery failure. (Learning to make data backups all the time could be a good habit for you to protect your important data.)

    Hi

After quick format data still will present in Hard drive,Its depend upon technologies,Windows does not provide

However you need a third party software to recover the data like bitlocker or pandora recovery

BitLocker is not the cause of failed to recover files.

Format a drive will clear all data saved on the hard disk. Thus recovery formatted data will be a hard disk based technology but not related to operation system. There is no build-in data recovery feature in Windows operations. So we will needto use third party recovery tool or contact third party data recovery company for current issue

As per my personal experience i had used Pandora recovery to recover data,i got 90% of data

    You can download and try

    http://www.pandorarecovery.com/download/
