Sticky Notes for Windows 7

Some time ago, I deleted Windows Sticky Notes in Windows 7 professional.  I have note been able to get them back in a fully functional manner.  In addition, the gadgets window pane does not seem to be working properly.  The pane opens, but I cannot right-click to get the "Add or Delete" window.

I was able to find "StikyNot.exe" in the Windows\System32 sub directory.  I copied that to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Sidebar\Gadgets\

I then pinned a shortcut to taskbar.  When I click on the icon, I get some old sticky notes.  I can add new sticky notes, but I cannot delete any of them, even the ones I just created.  In addition, sticky notes don't show up on the gadget pane.  I have also not been able to find a "StikyNot.Gadget" file.

I have run sfc /scannow, and no errors or updates were reported.

How do I fix the gadgets pane, and how to I restore full functionality to the the Sticky Notes?

How did you "delete" sticky notes in the first place?  They are not a component that is allowed to be disabled.

If you simply went into the system files and started deleting things, then really your best chance of success is to reinstall your operating system.
