Hey guys,

I've had trouble installing or uninstalling programs on my computer. I keep getting the error codes 2502 and 2503, but nothing seems to work. I've looked and tried just about everything I've seen in the forums. Any ideas on what is needed to fix it?

Thanks,

Jordan

    Hi Jordan,

    1. What programs are you trying to install?
    2. Does the issue occur when you install any particular program or all the programs?
    3. Did you make any changes to the computer prior to the issue?
    4. What is the exact and complete error message you get?

Method 1: Check the Windows Installer Service

    Step 1:

    a)      Press Windows key + R, In run Command type services.msc and hit Enter.

    b)      Scroll down and find the Windows Installer. Double-click “Windows Installer” in the Services list.

    c)      On the General tab, make sure the service is started under “Service status”.

    d)      If the service is not already running, under Service status, click Start, and then click OK.

    Step 2:

    a) Press Windows key +R

    b) Type “msiexec /unregister” and press ENTER

    c) Press Windows key +R again and type “msiexec /regserver” and press ENTER

    d) Restart the computer and check.

**Method 2:**I would also suggest you to scan your computer with Microsoft Safety Scanner, which would help us to get rid of viruses, spyware, and other malicious software.

The Microsoft Safety Scanner is a free downloadable security tool that provides on-demand scanning and helps remove viruses, spyware, and other malicious software. It works with your existing antivirus software.

**Note:**The Microsoft Safety Scanner expires 10 days after being downloaded. To rerun a scan with the latest anti-malware definitions, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

Important: While scanning the hard drive if any bad sectors are found, the scanner tries to repair that sector, any data available on that might be lost.

Hope you are now able to install programs, if you have any further queries, feel free to post. We will be happy to help you.

I accomplished the same thing with the advice to install using:

msiexec /i "insert package path here"

in a Command Prompt window that was Run as an Administrator.

And it worked out.  Simply amazed.
