Bluetooth mouse stopped working, and can't remove it as a device.

1 week old Bluetooth mouse has suddenly stopped working with my laptop.  Before anyone says, yes I've checked the batteries and I've used it with another PC, so the mouse is not the problem.

Anyways I've tried connecting it to my laptop several times and the laptop just can't find it.  To frustrate me further, Windows 8 won't let me remove my mouse as a device (I wanted to try and reconnect it from scratch again).  Just comes up with a message 'Cannot remove device'.  I've tried this several times.

I think as long as I can remove  the mouse as a device, I should be able to connect it again successfully..... Any help or advice?

hey guys I have been searching for a solution for "my Bluetooth device is reconnecting and disconnecting or my Bluetooth device goes offline and can t be removed " about a week ago and finally by combing things it  worked well

    FIRST PROBLEM

1-Here is what u shall do in windows 8 and the problem is that your device can t be removed :

1-Go to "Control Panel" then type "Device Manager"  then " double click on "Device Manager"

2- u ll find a long list , probably u won t find the word "Bluetooth" icon on it so u have to click on "view" on the top left of the window and choose "Show hidden devices" after that you ll notice that the word Bluetooth showed up in the list , double click on it a new list ll show up but it ll not be in bold , among this new list under the title of Bluetooth search for the name of the device you were using , like hp Bluetooth mouse or Logitech Bluetooth mouse or headset or things like that , your product u have attached and not responding must be found in the list below Bluetooth option anyways so find it uninstall it then close all the control panel and sub windows of it  then go to "Devices" by 1-going top right corner  2- click on settings 3-change pc settings 4-Choose Devices

5- if u find the device there uninstall it and it ll be uninstalled successfully or u may not find it anymore on your devices list

then restart your computer and u can successfully pair your device from "Add a device option " in your "Devices " page

but w8 we are not finished yet , to prevent this problem from happening again you must do some more things :) :

1- open the "Device Manager" again this time you ll find Bluetooth option when you open it without doing anything then you must double click on it , the list will be opened in bold this time , in one of the option you ll find the word "adapter" at the end of one of the long option s name click on that sub title you ll find some title in there one of the titles name is "Power management "  , uncheck the options which are probably checked then click "ok" and then pair your Bluetooth , this time it shall be working fine  .

2-Second problem if you are having problem where your Bluetooth device is connecting and disconnecting periodically by itself  :

1- open the "Device Manager" again this time you ll find Bluetooth option when you open it without doing anything then you must double click on it , the list will be opened in bold this time , in one of the option you ll find the word "adapter" at the end of one of the long option s name click on that sub title you ll find some title in there one of the titles name is "Power management "  , uncheck the options which are probably checked then click "ok" and then pair your Bluetooth , this time it shall be working fine  .

Let me know if this worked for you guys , I hope it will

Hey! im having the same problem with my razer orochi 2013 model. i have connected the mouse wirelessly to another one of my computers, so i know that the mouse isnt the problem. i have tried removing the mouse from the devices and printers section, but it just gives me the same error every time, "Remove Failed" or something like that. Additionally, i have tried renaming the mouse and it will not let me do that either. i have an Asus G46VW which runs on Windows 8, and again i have a razer orochi 2013 model gaming grade mouse. I have done the two steps that Srinivas KR suggested, and neither one worked.

Ideas, anyone? (it sounds like either an asus problem or a windows 8 problem, my money is on the windows 8)

    Thanks!

I have been having the same issue with a Bluetooth keyboard. What is strange is that it is doing the same thing on both my Asus G75 running windows 8, I can connect the keyboard to my ipad and my iphone so I know the keyboard is ok, but I get no devices found when I search for new devices and I cannot uninstall it from my list of devices, it gives me the message remove failed. any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hi Matt,

    1.      What is the make and model of the mouse?

    2.      Does the mouse work normally on any other computer?

    3.      Were there any changes made to the computer prior to the issue?

Please follow the methods and check if it works fine.

    Method 1:

    Run the hardware troubleshooter.

    a)      Press the ‘Windows + C’ to activate the charms menu or move the mouse pointer to bottom right corner of the screen and you will get the charms menu.

    b)      Click on ‘search’ and select ‘settings’ and type ‘Troubleshooting’ and select ‘troubleshooting’.

    c)       Click on ‘Hardware and Sound’ and select ‘Hardware and Devices’ and click on next to run the troubleshooter.

    Method 2:

    Follow the steps.

    a.      Press Windows Key + R

    b.      In the run box, type services.msc and press enter.

    c.       Right click on Bluetooth Support Service

    d.      Make sure it is Automatic.

    e.      Click on OK.
