    Hi,

1.How long you have been facing this issue?

    1. Did you make any changes on the computer prior to the issue?
    2. Why are you using command prompt?
    3. What aer you trying to achieve?

It is an error related to Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI)

I would suggest you to follow these steps and check if it helps

    a. Go to Start and All Programs and go to Accessories and right-click Command Prompt and  Run as administrator.

    b. In the DOS window, it pops up, type the following:

    c.net stop winmgmt

    d. And press Enter

    e. Then select Y to accept, and wait until the service is shut off.

    f. After the services are shut down, type the following:

    g.del c: \ Windows \ System32 \ wbem \ Repository \ *.*

    h. And press Enter

    i. Then select Y to accept.

    j. Type exit and press enter.

    k. Restart the computer.

    l. After the system restarts, wait a few moments.

    m. May appear a few more error messages.

    n. After a few minutes then restart the system again

I did as instructed here.  Access was not denied and the changes were made.  But I have no idea what this did to my computer.

Rather than going to CMD, what if I went to All Programs, Accessories, Command Prompt, right click - Run as Administrator.  And then followed the suggestions in No. 2, i.e.

    b. At the command prompt, type the following commands. Pressing ENTER after each command line:

    winmgmt /verifyrepository

    winmgmt /salvagerepository

    c. Restart the computer.

Would it work then?  Remember, my goal is to prevent my computer from shutting down and restarting with the firewall turned off.
