Thank you for providing these details, Mebbs.  As mentioned, anyone else getting this error please also provide answers to the questions above so that we can fully diagnose and troubleshoot the issue.

I wasn't able to find any documentation regarding the error code, but here's some things that generally fix issues with Xbox Video on the 360:

  • While on the dashboard, sign out of your profile (Guide button, then X)
  • Go to Settings -> System -> Storage -> Memory Unit -> Profiles, select your GamerTag, and select Delete.  Select Delete Profile Only.
  • While under Memory Unit, go to Games and Apps, and delete Xbox Music And Video.
  • Still under Memory Unit, go to System Items and delete Marketplace System Data.
  • Go back to Storage, where it shows Memory Unit, Cloud Saved Games, and other storage devices.  Highlight Memory Unit and hit Y (Device Options) and then select Clear System Cache.
  • Restart your console.
  • Select Download Profile (all the way to the right from all of the profiles in the list).
  • Once signed in, try the Video app again and see if that fixes things for you.

Let us know how it goes!

Regards,

Kevin J S

    Hi Kevin

Thanks for your reply - details below:

Where are you trying to access Xbox Video?  Xbox 360?  Xbox One?  Windows 8 PC? - Xbox 360.

    • Are you able to see and watch anything on video.xbox.com? yes, I can watch Netflix and youtube no problem
    • Are you able to watch movie trailers? Yes, I can watch the movie trailers, but when I hit the rental button, I get the error message
