As per the problem description, you have an issue with computer performance displaying installed program list in Programs and Features. We need more information to assist you better; I would request you to send us more information as listed below.
Did you make any changes to the computer prior to this issue?
Let’s find the issue cause and try fixing it by performing the following methods.
Method 1:
a. Press Windows Key and X key together.
b. Click on Command Prompt (admin)
c. Run the following commands, restart the computer and check the issue status
Regsvr32 jscript.dll
Regsvr32 vbscript.dll
Method 2:
Rename the Repository folder and check the issue status.
a. Press Windows Key and W key together.
b. Type in “View Local Services” and press enter.
c. Stop the “Windows Management Instrumentation” service and close the service Window
d. Go to C:\Windows\System32\Wbem
e. Rename the “Repository” to “Repository.old”
f. Go back to View Local Services and start the “Windows Management Instrumentation” service.
g. Restart the computer and check the issue status.
Method 3:
I would suggest you to perform System File Check (SFC), and then check if this fixes the issue.
Follow the steps:
a. Press “Windows Key + Q” button from the keyboard.
b. Type “Command Prompt” without quotes in the search box.
c. On the left pane, right click on the “Command Prompt” option and select “Run as Administrator”.
d. Type “sfc /scannow” without quotes and hit enter (There should be space between sfc and /).
Note: It may ask for windows installation DVD to fix and to enable SFC to make more than minor repairs. Some files saved on your computer might get deleted when fixing corrupted files.
