    Hi,

To assist you further with this issue, I would like to know some information about the same.

    1. Have you connected a scanner to the computer?
    2. What are you referring by "it created an icon"? Have you tried to install the wizard?
    3. Do you get any error code or error message?

This issue might have caused due to compatibility issues. I would suggest you try installing the scanner in compatibility mode and check if it works for you.

Make older programs compatible with this version of Windows:

The scanner is a MicroTech ScanWizard 5 v5.12

I don't think it has a driver....I punched it in @ Microtek and it said that this model does not have a driver. I am not sure about that tho. I have not tried compatabilitiy mode yet. I am at work now but I printed the instructions for when I get home. I don't think that it is in the control panel. I still have a cd that came with it and thats what I tried first. Thanks for sticking with this. Tim
