Do I have too many drivers?

I'm a little confused about drivers, and how many I should have.

In Device Manager, under Display Adapters I have

-Intel HD Graphics 4600, and

-Nvidia GeForce GTX 750ti, for my graphics card.

Under Monitors I have a listing for my monitor (NEC).

My question is, do I have too many drivers for the same things? The reason I ask is because I am having some trouble when I am on websites. When I scroll up and down a horizontal line flickers, staying in the same spot on the page as I scroll up and down. So I was wondering if I had too many drivers just for my monitor. Doesn't my graphics card run the monitor since that is what it is connected to? Do I need 2 display adapter drivers and another one for my monitor? Shouldn't I only need a driver for my graphics card?

Thank you.

    Simple answer: No

    You have dual graphic cards installed

    1 -Intel HD Graphics 4600, and

    2 -Nvidia GeForce GTX 750ti

    They require their own driver/s

    When you are using low graphic demand (general everyday use) the PC/Laptop will use the lower powered graphics card- Intel HD Graphics 4600.

    When you have demand for a more powerful graphic, such as a full HD movie or gaming the PC/Laptop will automatically utilise the power of the Nvidia GeForce GTX 750i graphics card.

    This done to conserve power especially if running on battery power.

    Your monitor/s also require their own driver/s, basically to connect to the PC/laptop.

    The graphics cards provides information to be shown on your monitor through your PC/Laptop.

    This is a basic description of the process.

    Horizontal flickering lines maybe caused by graphics card drivers not being up to date:

    Download & install latest drivers for you OS from the link below;

    Nvidia;

    http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-

    Intel;

    http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/highlights/graphics/4cp-hd4600gfx

    In my opinion, whilst at the Nvidia website - download & install the 'Nvidia GeForce Experience' app.

    The app will advise you when a updated version of you graphics card is available, and will give you the option to download & install if you wish to do so. Nvidia update their drivers quiet frequently.

    I have it installed on all my devices (which I have several).

    I do not use Intel graphic card detection, because it uses Java, which I am not satisfied with Java security, so I down load their drivers manually.

    Again the opinions expressed are mine, not in any way associated with MS.
