Error 0xc00d11cd (0xc00d3a9a) when playing YET ANOTHER purchased video

For a bit of history, I have reported errors on two different episodes of Spartacus: Blood and Sand in the past.  The folks at Microsoft verified the issue as being a transcoding issue on their end and they eventually fixed it.  Please see the following thread for more detail on this:

I am now having the exact same issue with episode 11 of American Horror Story (season 1).  I have tried to verify that it is not an error on my end.  First, I am from the U.S. and I live in the U.S. and I play the videos in the U.S..  I cannot stream the content because my internet connection is too slow, so I download them instead.  The first ten episodes were fine, but the eleventh episode played until about the 20 minute mark and then stopped with the error code 0xc00d11cd (0xc00d3a9a).  Here's what I have done so far:

  1. I deleted the video, redownloaded, and had the same result at the same point.
  2. I then downloaded the episode on a completely different computer (my desktop upstairs).  The same exact error at the same exact moment.
  3. I then downloaded the episode to my home theater PC (this is the 3rd computer I've tried this on) and the episode stops at the same point with the same error.

Please note, this error is with the downloaded version and may not occur with the streaming version.  I will contact those who helped out in the past, but in the meantime, hopefully someone at Microsoft sees this and helps out.

Thank you,

Roy

    Hello MathemAddicts,

Thanks for your patience with this issue.  I've done some testing on our end and confirm that the downloaded version does have playback issues starting at the 20:01 mark.  (This can be worked around by skipping forward a few minutes, but no one wants to skip ahead and miss the show for an error like this)  I've also confirmed that the streaming version of this episode doesn't have any issues.

As such, I'll be forwarding this to our marketplace team as soon as possible to see where the issue lies.

    Regards,

    Chanh S.

Sorry about that lack of information.  It's the HD version played on a PC.  I use Windows 8.1.  The way they figured out it was a transcoding error last time (with a different show) was they downloaded the HD version and watched to the point I indicated.  They then got the same error.  Please try that.

    Hi Chanh,

I checked to see if this issue was resolved yesterday, but the error still exists.  Do you have any indication of whether or not Microsoft is actually working on this?

    Thank you,

    Roy

Thank you so much, Chanh.  Can you let me know when/if they fix it?  We would like to finish the season.

    Hello MathemAddicts,

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Support.  In order to get to the root of this problem as soon as possible, I'd like to ask some follow-up questions.

    • Was this an SD, or HD purchase?
    • Which device are you trying to play the purchase on?  Is it PC, phone, Xbox Console?  If PC, what is the operating system you are using?

I'd like to try and replicate this to see if there are issues with content in the marketplace.   Feel free to get back to us at your earliest convenience.

    Regards,

    Chanh S.
