SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio for Windows 7.

I have Windows 7 installed on my Dell PC.  I have purchased new speakers for my computer which includes a subwoofer.  When I go to the properties button to test the speakers, it tells me to select the setup closest to my speakers.  The only thing that I don't understand, is that it only gives me one option which is for only 2 speakers.  It does show an option for 2 sat speakers and a subwoofer but it will not let me select it.  Is there any way that I can change this to where I can set the speakers with the subwoofer?

    Hello SJMiller,

Thank you for your reply and apology for the delayed response.

As per the description, I understand that you are trying to test the speakers and subwoofers you discovered that in settings contain only one setup option which contain only two speakers.

I would appreciate if you can provide us the following information to help us understand the issue better.

    1. What is the make and model of your sound card and computer manufacturer?
    2. Are you able to hear sound from speakers and subwoofers?
    3. Have you checked connecting the speakers and subwoofers to any other computer? Do you get the any different result?

As a troubleshooting step, I would recommend you to run Windows inbuilt Hardware and Device Troubleshooter and check if the issue persists.

Let’s follow the steps in the article below to run hardware and devices troubleshooter.

Open the hardware and Devices troubleshooter.

Does the hardware plug into two different spots on your audio card or is it just one 3.5 connector? That may be the issue.  Also, your audio card may not support the subwoofer - do you have the make and model of the card that is in your PC?

It only plugs in one spot,  Just one 3.5 connector.  The only thing I get for the card is SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio by Analog Devices Inc.  The driver date is 10/31/2006, which after researching, is the most updated version.
