Hi,
Are you sure you are using the correct drivers ?
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
My printer was working fine before I update to windows 8.1.
After the update, the printer was uninstalled so i decided to install it. I downloaded the driver to install the printer since my laptop doesn't have any cd reader.
During installation, the driver wasn't able to detect my printer (pixma ip 2770). I tried to plug the cable to another usb port but it still didn't work. This is what actually happened.
What should I do?

Hi,
Are you sure you are using the correct drivers ?
Yes, I am sure. I've been trying to download the drivers from different websites and I get the same program.
Hi,
I had a bit of a similar problem with my Lexmark... I could reinstall the software, but it would only refresh what was already there, and that didn't solve the problem...
This is what I had to do to get it to work... It may or may not be of any benefit for your printer..
1) Printer must be On for it to show up in Devices and Printers after the Upgrade - Just this one time. Otherwise, only the Lexmark Fax shows up and the Printer can't be REMOVED.
2) Now UNHOOK the Printer
3) REMOVE Lexmark Printer and Lexmark Fax in Devices and Printers.
4) STOP the PRINT SPOOLER.
5) Uninstall software - TWO Firewall Security Messages Pop Up about "ALLOWING' Printer Communication..
Select "ALLOW".... if you Allow both Shared and Private on both windows, you end up with two printers in
Printer Preferences, Properties, etc. I unchecked a "Shared" on the first window.
6) After REBOOT, STOP Print Spooler AGAIN.
7) Reinstall Software\Drivers ... Hook Printer back up when Prompted.
8) Unhook Printer again and REBOOT ... This step isn't necessary if Bidirectional Support is already ENABLED.
Skip to step 10 if Enabled.
9) Enable Bidirectional Support and Reboot
10) Set up Printer Preferences if desired, and it's ready to go.
Hi,
Try going to SERVICES and make sure the Print Spooler is Started...
The "Print Spooler" can be found in Control Panel... Administrative Tools... Services.
You might also try running the installer in Compatibility Mode for whatever it worked with before...
You could also try "Run As Administrator" at the bottom of the Compatibility Mode window.
Hi,
i've checked the Print Spooler and it is running. Tried to restart it also but still didn't work.
I tried to change the compatibility mode but it didn't work also,
