Hi everybody,

Since yesterday my laptop F10 key isn't working anymore.

I runned system restore configuration and restored the system at the status of 1 week ago.

I also tried to hit the key with another plugged in keybord, without success.

On my Windows XP Mode (Virtual Machine) the F10 key is workling properly.

How can I resolve this issue?

Thank you!

    Hi,

    Try these and check.

Type without using the keyboard (On-Screen Keyboard).

I would also suggest you to use the External Keyboard and check.

I'm having a problem with my F9 & F10 keys. Volume up & volume down buttons! It's a brand new computer. 2 wks. old. It was working now it's not. I had a wireless mouse hooked up to it and when I unplugged it...it worked. Then it stopped working again but I haven't had the mouse hooked up to it again. I need help and any kind of help would be appreciated.

    Hi,

    thank you for your reply.

To find where the error was located, I started Windows in Safe Mode and see that with Safe Mode the F10 key was running regular.

Also with the normal mode the F10 was running a few moments after desktop was loaded.

So I thought that a program locked the key.

After some analysis I discover that a program called  Intel® Trusted Platform Module something so (I don't have anymore the computer with me) has the F10 key setted as the "disconnect key" and this program locks every key putted in these field.

The computer is an IBM Thinkpad T510, with OEM Windows installation.

It is not mine, so I couldn't know that the owner setted this key a few days ago. The system restore I runned wasn't able to change this option.

Thank you again for the answer.
